Copper Mountain was born out of an obsession for candles and a love of a healthy and simple lifestyle. I have loved candles for as long as I can remember; a certain smell can calm you down, take you back to a beloved memory, and make a home more inviting. Growing up I was oblivious to all of the nasty things hiding in candles, after all how could something so beautiful be bad for you?

When I was in my third year of college I slowly started detoxifying my life. I switched out my food, cleaning products, and makeup. Somehow I didn’t even think to research what was in the candles and warmers that I hoarded until years later when I had my first child. I remember that I accidentally spilled one of my scent warmers on my bedroom dresser, and when I went to clean it up a minute later it has stripped everything off of the dresser down to the raw wood! The day that happened I tossed out all of my scent warmers and candles. I promised myself that I would find a way to have something just as comforting without the horrible chemicals.

After a lot of trial and error, I am proud to share my candles with you. They are all made with 100% natural soy wax, certified clean fragrance oil, and 100% cotton wicks. I will NEVER use anything that is not safe for you to bring into your home. These candles are the only ones that I will burn in my home around my family, and I promise that if I won’t use it around my family, I won’t bring it into yours either.
